The third GeoTREE newsletter for 2007 is now available.

The GeoTREE Center has received funding from USGS, AmericaView, and UC Davis. This is a collaborative project between IowaView and Virginia Tech.

Geographic Information System (GIS) is more than maps – it is a comprehensive system that supports decision making. GIS Day is an event held internationally and provides a forum for users and developers of GIS technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. More than 80 countries will participate in holding local events such as corporate open houses, hands-on workshops, community expos, school assemblies, and more.

Sugu, GeoTREE Director, and Co-author Vijayan Sugumaran, from Oakland University, are writing a book entitled: Spatial Decision Support System: Principle and Practices. This book will be published in 2008.
