SSDSS was implemented as a Microsoft Excel AddIn. The purpose of the SSDSS AddIn is to provide freely available spatial decision support tools in a spreadsheet environment. By developing in a spreadsheet environment it is hoped that a wider audience will be exposed to spatial decision support tools for educational, research, and management uses. Traditionally these types of tools require expensive Geographic Information Systems software. The SSDSS AddIn is at an early stage of development and will be developed further in the future.
