Biography:
John earned his M.S. in Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Currently John is investigating the potential application of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems for public health issues particularly West Nile Virus habitat in Iowa. He will be working with Iowa public health and also other local governments officials and will develop tools and techniques which will be used to better understand the spatial aspects of the West Nile Virus.

Biography:
Jane has worked at UNI since 1993 as administrative assistant for the Geographic Alliance of Iowa. (GAI) In January 2006, She was hired for the GeoTREE Center as an administrative assistant. She is coordinating and scheduling the training workshops, travel arrangements, processing all payment documents involving all of the program project accounts, and communicate regularly with core and individual project coordinators regarding the fiscal activity of the grant.

Biography:
Scott received his B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Iowa with a minor in Biology. In 2008, Scott earned his B.A. in Geography from UNI. Scott has conducted field studies on mosquito abundance in the cities of Cedar Falls and Waterloo in order to analyze mosquito species distributions in relation to human West Nile virus (WNV) incidence. He has also used ecological niche modeling to create predictive maps of WNV vector species in the state of Iowa. Scott is currently investigating human WNV incidence in the continental United States in relation to landscape and environmental factors using spatial statistics.

Biography:
Alexander received his Diploma of Specialist in Cartography from the Department of Geography and Geoecology at Saint Petersburg State University. In 2008, he successfully defended his Master's Thesis and earned his MA in Geography at the University of Northern Iowa. Alexander's main assignment as a Research Assistant was to investigate the issue of heat loss from the on-campus buildings using aerial thermal infrared imagery. Alexander also participated in a number of smaller projects, including ArcGIS customization for school redistricting in Cedar Falls and web-development for the WebDIP project. He is currently involved with the development of the OpenSDSS platform for the GeoTREE Center.

Biography:
Jonathan received his Computer Science degree from Iowa State University in Ames. Currently he is working as a systems administrator for the GeoTREE lab. He is also responsible for designing and updating the GeoTREE web site.

Biography:
Matt received his B.S. in Journalism from Iowa State University. He has also earned a B.A. in Geography from UNI, and is currently finishing up his M.A. in Geography also at UNI. Matt is currently using hyperspectral imagery to determine tree species identification on campus and is also learning about LIDAR applications.
